The original color run has started a strong 5k fad that stretches to include nearly every variant of turning a grueling task into a somewhat fun one. This Saturday night at the Fairplex in Pomona, join in on the Spark Run, a nighttime 5k fun run filled with glow sticks, LED lights, black light, costumes, and more. Registration currently costs $60 per individual or $55 per individual in a team of four or more, and comes with a t-shirt, race bib, LED bracelet, and glow necklace. Children eight and under can participate for free, but will only receive the glow necklace. The doors open at 6pm and the race starts at 7:45pm, but I highly suggest arriving as early as possible to avoid traffic delays. Bring extra cash for parking, food, and drinks.

One of the world’s grandest stage for alternative lifestyles, the annual Ink-N-Iron Festival returns this weekend to the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Complete with live music, tattooing, custom cars, cabaret shows, circus acts, aerial acrobatics, a pin-up pageant, merchandise, and more, this all-ages festival covers everything for fans of punk rock, rockabilly, and other similar genres. Parking at the Queen Mary fills up incredibly fast and costs almost half as much as admission, so search for parking in Downtown Long Beach and take the free red Passport bus down to the Queen Mary.
