With the turn of a new year comes many celebrations, such as the Japanese New Year Celebration in Little Tokyo last Friday afternoon. Hosted by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California, this free and all-ages event took place at Weller Court in the Little Tokyo district of Downtown Los Angeles and featured a handful of things to do and see. Visitors found a variety of Japanese food booths, including yakisoba, takoyaki, mochi, fried tofu, macaroons, and more. Activities included raffle prizes, mochi hammering, Real Escape Game demos, and a stage with a variety of performances and live entertainment. All of the shops in this area opened for business under regular weekly hours, allowing visitors to truly experience what Weller Court has to offer.
