This contemporary violinist combines the classical sound of this stringed instrument with today’s hip hop and dubstep music. Listen to the song that drew me to her.

Gourmet Salt Cooking Exhibition

The Factory will host a FREE cooking exhibition featuring various gourmet salts. The restaurant will feature special menu items for this night only, so food fans will definitely want to show up this night.

Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk (Second Thursdays)

This free monthly event takes place over many blocks in Downtown Los Angeles. Many galleries will open late, and some parking lots will contain more art, vendors, food trucks, entertainment, and more. Unless you know business owners, free parking does not exist in Downtown LA, although some meters only operate until 8pm. First-time visitors should attend with someone who has gone here before.

Punk Rock Picnic Battle of the Bands

$7 cover charge for all ages – see many punk rock bands play for a spot for next year’s Punk Rock Picnic.

Fullerton Pumpkin Launch

Discovery Science Center, Cal State Fullerton

At this FREE event (requires registration at their website), witness hundreds of pumpkins getting thrown, launched, catapulted, and more from the Discovery Science Center on the CSUF campus. Food trucks will open their windows to serve food to guests.

Nuke the Fridge Con

Wine Riot LA

Love wine, or want to get into wine? Wine Riot covers the entire spectrum of wine and people, from the newcomers to the experienced. Just like how a beer fest allows guests to sample different types of beer, Wine Riot allows guests to sample different types of wines from all around the world. Wine experts will deliver seminars for both consumers and those in the industry. Live DJ’s, a photo booth, temporary tattoos, and more will adorn the venue space. Wine Riot occurs in two sessions: 1pm-5pm, and 7pm-11pm. Tickets currently cost $50 per person. Prepare to either pay for parking or arrive via public transportation.

4th Annual Savor the Flavor Beer & Spirits Extravaganza
6:30 pm – 10:30 pm, November 10
Four Points by Sheraton LAX, Los Angeles

For $35, guests get treated to unlimited beer tastings from only 11 breweries, unlimited spirit tastings, appetizers, two raffle tickets, live music, a souvenir mug, and more. Shuttle rides cost $5 roundtrip.

Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival
11:00 am – 5:00 pm, November 11
Marine Stadium, Long Beach

This semi-annual arts & crafts fair consists of a series of Sunday fests at four different locations: Culver City, Long Beach, Oakland, and Santa Ana. As with any typical arts & crafts fair, Patchwork will feature many traditional forms of art and merchandise, but also mixes in alternative art – thinking outside the box, or Rebel Art. Those who have attended Renegade Craft Fair will view Patchwork as a hybrid of that and a traditional art fair. Featuring clothing, accessories, home goods, jewelry, pet items, and more, this FREE fest caters to a wide & diverse crowd. Food trucks will serve guests during the fest. Always remember to carry cash, since most vendors only accept cash. The surrounding neighborhood contains plenty of free street parking.
